What you need to know about Weddings

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
There are two components to your wedding.  Firstly there is the legal side.  Secondly there is the relationship side.  Both are important in preparing for your marriage.

BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Legal Side
You will be required to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage for as well as sign a Statutory Declaration.  At the signing of the Notice of Intended marriage you must bring your birth certificate or current passport or citizenship certificate.  In case of a divorced person or a widow or widower evidence of that person' divorce, or of the death of that person' spouse should be produced for sighting by the minister (court evidence of decree upon dissolution of marriage of death certificate).  Contact our office for more information.

The Relationship Side
As part of you marriage preparation, couples will be required to attend the marriage preparation course that is organised by the church.  The course will be seeking to address such topics as Communication, Conflict, Money & Sexuality.

THE SERVICE

FLOWERS
We do not provide flowers.  Couples need to make their own arrangements.

PEW DECORATION
Do not use pins, tape or blue tac on pews.  We recommend ribbons tied around the end of the pew.

CONFETTI, ROSE PETALS OR RICE
Please do not throw these things inside the church.  You will appreciate the enormous job it is to get cleaned up afterwards.

PHOTOS/VIDEOS
Both are quite acceptable during the service although it is best if the couple will consult with the minister first.

FEES
There is a standard fee of $1000.  A $50 non-refundable deposit must be paid during completing of the Notice of Intended Marriage.  The $850 balance is to be paid on the rehearsal day to be arranged by the minister.

MUSIC
You may choose the have particular music for the bridal procession or recession or at the signing of the register otherwise the organist will select something appropriate (or bring your own musician).
